The I-Stubble from BaByliss is ideal for guys who prefer the stubble look – whether you want longer stubble, just a shadow, or a short beard. With 15 precise length settings, it’s easy to choose the exact length you want.
The I-Stubble is affordable and easy to use, but how well does it perform? We put this trimmer to the test to find out.
- A variety of lengths to choose from
- Comb guide ensures length accuracy
- Contoured floating head trims hair evenly
- LED screen makes it easy to see your selected length at a glance
- Quick recharge time
- Long battery life
- Takes a few passes to trim properly
The only real complaint we had with this trimmer was that it took more than one pass to accurately trim certain areas. If you have patches of thicker hair, it may take you a bit longer to get the job done. While inconvenient, this trimmer does come with the advantage of being affordable and highly accurate in terms of length control.
Our BaByliss for Men 7895u I-Stubble Review
If you’re going for the stubble look, uniformity is important when using a trimmer. And that’s an area where many other trimmers fail. Without an even cut, you may wind up inadvertently sporting the not-so-attractive “homeless” look.
But the I-Stubble trimmer does an excellent job of delivering an even, uniform cut – albeit it takes a while to get there. We had to run the trimmer over a few areas more than once, particularly that tricky spot where the jaw meets the neck. The floating heads do make it easier to reach these spots, and without them, we fear it might have taken twice as long to trim our beards.
The motorised length control works brilliantly, and the comb guard ensures that you always trim to your desired length – nothing more, nothing less. Altogether, there are 15 length settings that range between 0.4mm and 5mm, so you have a wide variety of lengths to choose from.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that this trimmer came with an adapter plug, so there’s no need to purchase one separately.
We did notice that the comb guide can be a bit troublesome at times. It does seem a bit flimsy, but so far, it has held up well. Other users have commented that their guides snapped on more than one occasion.
The LED screen makes it easy to see your selected length as well as the remaining battery life. There are two buttons situated under the screen that let you increase or decrease the length.
Recharging is quick at just 90 minutes, and you get an hour of use. There’s also a quick 5-minute recharge option for those times when you need a touch-up on your way out the door.
- 15 length settings: 0.4mm – 5mm
- Floating contouring head for an even trim
- Electro-chemically formed blades
- Motorised length control
- Comb guide
- LED screen displays battery level and selected length
- 60-minute use on 90-minute charge time; 5-minute quick charge option
All in all, we liked this trimmer. Can it compare to high-end models? Probably not – but it does come close. The length precision is spot on, and the quick recharge time makes this trimmer worth the buy.
