Braun BT5050 Beard Trimmer Review
From stubble to a thick, full beard, the BT5050 has a length setting that is perfect for you. In fact, you can switch between 25 different length settings to find the ideal length for your beard. This takes some time and patience, and we recommend starting at the highest setting and moving your way down to lower settings if you have a thicker beard.
No one wants to waste months growing the perfect beard only to accidently shave it off with the wrong setting.
Charging this model takes 8 hours (a little on the long side), but you can use it for 50 minutes while cordless. A green LED alerts you when it’s time to charge your unit. And if you like, you can choose to use the corded mode to plug it into any socket in your home or bathroom.
You’ll be able to adjust lengths between 1mm and 10mm. The longer comb (also included) allows for adjustments up to 20mm.
The best part is that you’ll be able to clean the unit under water for quick and easy cleanup. A cleaning kit is provided, too, which will include a small brush and oil so that you can keep your trimmer running smoothly for years to come.
While highly efficient, you may have to go over certain areas of your face again if hairs are missed.
Perfect for styling and trimming, there is a lot to like about this model. In particular, we liked:
- Numerous length adjustments for the perfect trim
- Cleaning kit is included, which is not the norm
- Durable design and a smooth trim
- The unit makes an odd “buzzing” noise when charging
- You may have to go over an area an additional time
The charging noise is easily ignored. While some users may be concerned about having to go over an area more than once, this seems to only happen on contour areas. We found that pulling the skin taut works best and allows the trimmer to do its job more efficiently in these hard-to-reach areas.
With 50 minutes of battery life, you can keep a nicely trimmed beard during travel or at home. And with 25 length options and 1mm – 20mm length adjustments, the BT5050 is one of the most complete beard trimmers on the market.
